Samhain Anthology is full of great short Articles, telling of the origin of Trick and Treats (from Foreword), embracing death instead of fearing and battling with it, making your own divination runes, and my favorite the history of Jack O’ Lanterns (With October So Near)! All the articles are short, but very well but together to convey the spirit of the Sabbath/holiday, the mood of it, the celebration of it. Samhain Anthology’s articles are a perfect introduction and manual for the Sabbath of Samhain, with stories about food, making wreaths and Samhain decorations, crafting runes, honoring our ancestors or setting up rituals with beautiful incantations.

Articles :

The Poetry sections I loved! Elements by Julienne Lee got me from the very beginning, it was a gorgeous homage to mother nature in all the elements. Cordelia Deeter’s Whispers was another favorite even though more solemn, yet hopeful. Piona Hutton’s poem staid within me the longest really bringing me to the state of appreciation for the season.

Poetry :

The Short Stories were great, of course with any short stories they leave you wanting more when they are good and most of them I would have not mind at all reading more of! From celebrating Samhain in a hollowed asteroid in the future (Webs by Marlene Dotterer) to ghost haunting to gain justice for unpunished crimes.

Webs, A Future Samhain by Marlene Dotterer
Sandy works in a hollowed out asteroid that had been converted to a miniature Earth, with forest and farm land hovering in space. She can feel spirits, but what she can’t feel is the presence of Gaia, mother earth in The Carson. But Samhain is coming and as everyone takes to celebrating it’s good to remember what lead them here.

I loved the idea of nature based religion taking hold of humanity and the idea of having an asteroid colony where they try to create new life that can be sentient on its own.

Evening Out by Rosa Sophia
Betty Lou got fired and staying cooped up at home isn’t her idea of a good time so a walk in the cold and cloudy evening with a friend sounds like a great idea. As they pass the graveyard talking about how their personal lives are experiencing draught they spot a girl, a familiar looking girl sitting on a gravestone. There’s something odd about the girls the way she talks, acts and the fact that she’s dressed quite poorly for such cold weather. It is a month later that they meet Jennifer again as their car breaks down and they are forced to cut through the graveyard as they witness a brutal assault and escaped the two men guilty of it. Who were the attackers, why did the attack the man and just how does Jennifer know them?

Loved Rosa Sophia’s writing, it was like talking with a friend, and as the mystery grows you get a nice feeling of eeriness without the thread. I liked it a lot!

Sorrows End by Stephen B. Pearl
He’s lost her. She’s lost him. A dead spouse drives both Richard and Sally to seek the lay lines of the forest nearby to ask the god and goddess to unite them with their loved ones for just one day. What they receive is a chance meeting with each other, not having seen each other in ages they remember old feelings and talk of the lost loved ones, freeing them from being bound to linger with them.

You can’t go wrong with a love story with two broken hearts, finding each other to mend and heal, and take another chance on love. I definitely wanted to read more of this. I bet a whole book could have come out of this and it would have been great!

I’ll be reading this book again before next Samhain, you can be sure of that!

Absolutely worth all the 5 Stars I’m giving it!

My first of the three interviews is with Marlene Dotterer, the author of Samhain Anthology’s Webs and the novel “The Time Travel Journals: Shipbuilder”.

Niina : Welcome to For The Love of Reading! I’m glad you could make it. Can you tell my readers here little about yourself?

Marlene Dotterer : Thank you Niina, I’m excited to be here. The usual information about me is that I’m a middle-aged woman, married, with five children, one step-child, and seven (so far) grandchildren. I teach natural childbirth classes, cook a lot, and write science fiction and fantasy. I’m drawn to the nature aspects of paganism, feeling that it teaches us the best ways to live in harmony with our planet. I do the best I can in this respect, considering I live in the suburbs and don’t know how to garden.

Niina : What did you most enjoy about writing for the Samhain Anthology?

Marlene : I really loved the idea of taking part in something with other writers and other pagans. I’m pretty solitary in my practice, if it can even be called that, and this my first chance to really get involved with the pagan writing community.

Niina : On your website you say your story in the anthology is set on a spaceship in the future, do you see Paganism still present at “space-age”?

Marlene : Absolutely. I could write an entire essay on this question, but in general, I think that in the future more people will understand how fragile our ecosystem is. Science can solve a lot of problems, but the long-term solutions will happen when people live closer to nature. This is the heart of Paganism.
When we move out from our cradle to settle on other planets, moons, or space stations, we’re going to have to know how to listen to, and be attuned to, the environment. Computers will monitor things, but people are the first and last failsafe.

Niina : What drew you to write science fiction? And what keeps you writing it?

Marlene : I read Madeline L’Engle’s A Wrinkle in Time when I was eight. Every word resonated with me. I felt as if I could live in that book. I never looked back - science fiction gave me hope for a good life and a better world. I was a child of the sixties, too - moon landings and space exploration were a standard part of my formative years.
For me, writing SF happens as naturally as reading it. Even though my first book was about the man who built the Titanic, during the Edwardian era of the 20th century, I had to make it a science fiction story. This was pretty easy - time travel and the Titanic seem to just go together.

Niina : Why do you see people being informed of Samhain at Halloween time important?

Marlene : Uh, oh. I may step on a toe or two, here.
All of our sabbats have long, ancient histories, with deep meanings. But so much of the meaning and reasons for these festivals has been warped by Christianity, nearly destroying them. This was the end result the Church wanted. I think it’s amazing that we’ve been able to hold onto them at all, and I’m thrilled to see the true history being rediscovered and introduced into our modern life.
Christianity teaches that people (men) have dominion over everything, and that philosophy, along with our hectic, modern lifestyle, has nearly destroyed our world. Paganism reminds us that we are just a part of a bigger picture. The more people who understand this, the healthier our world will be.

Niina : Thank you for that, we are all part of a bigger picture. :) What about, which character in your story became your favorite?

Marlene : The characters and setting of this story are part of a larger WIP I’m writing, so there’s far more than what is seen in this short story.
There’s no doubt that my favorite is my heroine, Sandy. Sandy is one of those people with so much compassion to offer, but she’s trapped by shyness and doubt. On the spaceship, Rachel Carson, she’s found people to trust and love, and she’s coming out of her shell. Plus, she has the exciting job of helping to establish a living ecosystem on a hollowed-out asteroid. She has a special talent that helps with this: Sandy can sense the life-spirit of a planet, and can tell when that spirit is sentient, and she can communicate with it. This is a lot of fun to write about.

Niina : Were any of the characters/events based on real life characters/events?

Marlene : No, they all have their own beginnings.

Niina : Now little about how you write… What would you say is your most interesting writing quirk?

Marlene : It’s probably the fact that I actually get anything written. Most of the time, those words fight me tooth and nail.

Niina : What is the biggest “no-no” when it comes to writing for you?

Marlene : Noise. I simply cannot concentrate if there’s any noise at all. This - from the woman who used to do calculus homework while her five little kids ran around the house. That’s a talent I’d love to get back.

Niina : How do you write, chapter here and there or follow from beginning to an end?

Marlene : Totally haphazard. I’m lucky to get an entire chapter at once. Sometimes I just have pieces of scenes from all over the book.

Niina : What’s the worst advice for writers you’ve received?

Marlene : There’s not any one thing, really. But a lot of people are very quick to insist that a writer “must” do one thing or another. “All writers must write poetry,” or “never use multiple POVs.” These might be good ideas, but what works for the one giving advice might not work at all for the one receiving it. A new writer can waste a lot of time trying to do something that’s never going to work for her.
I guess my favorite worst advice is, “don’t do (fill in the blank), because it’s really hard to do well. Only the really good writers can get away with it.”
Honestly. How can you get good at it if you don’t do it?

My second of the three interviews is with Rosa Sophia, the author of Samhain Anthology’s Evening Out and the novel “Taking 1960”.

Niina : Welcome to For The Love of Reading! I’m glad you could make it. Can you tell my readers here 5 little fun facts about yourself?

Rosa Sophia : Hello, and thank you for having me! Five fun facts, eh? I guess that depends on your definition of fun! I live in south Florida and I work in a library. Some people consider it a fun fact that my hair reaches about four inches past my knees, and that rather than go to school for writing or English, I am working on an Associates Degree in Automotive Technology. I also have at least twelve unpublished novels that are either complete or half-written. That about sums it up!

Niina : What did you most enjoy about writing for the Samhain Anthology?

Rosa : More than anything, I feel very proud to be a part of Pagan Writers Press. Previously, my biggest accomplishment was my novel, Taking 1960, which was published last summer. So it is nice to see my name in print again, as both an author and an editor. I am also very proud of the mission statement of both PWP and Pagan Writers Community, and I enjoy helping the organizations as best I can, so that we can continue to unite writers and readers of alternative faiths.

Niina : So, how important is it to get Samhain out there at Halloween time?

Rosa : Very important. Samhain is important to Pagans, and this anthology, Pagan Writers Presents Samhain, is a wonderful way to make this information available to those who are curious. I believe that it is important for Pagans to try to be open about their beliefs. After all, people tend to fear or dislike what they do not understand. If we open up a bit, perhaps people will at least try to understand.

Niina : What drew you to writing paranormal mystery?

Rosa : It just kind of happened. Since I was a child, I have had the ability to see spirits—ghosts. My Sight is an important part of my life; naturally, it makes it into my writing. However, Paranormal Mystery is not all I write. I also like to write historical pieces, fiction, and poetry.

Niina : What is the biggest “no-no” when it comes to writing for you?

Rosa : I cannot say that I have one. When it comes to editing, though, my pet peeves include run-on sentences, and characters that have a tendency to nod and smile constantly, much like bobble-head dolls!

Niina : LOL! Yeah that would be no good. :) What about, which character in your story became your favorite?

Rosa : In “An Evening Out”, which is in the anthology, my favorite character is Betty Lou. And, of course, Jennifer.

Niina : Were any of the characters/events based on real life characters/events?

Rosa : Yes and no. I did not truly base the characters off anyone. However, Betty Lou is the name of a very good friend of mine. My friend is a wonderful person, totally fun to be around, and she is also a writer. But she and the character are not similar.

Niina : Now a little about how you write… What would you say is your most interesting writing quirk?

Rosa : My eyes glaze over and I become somewhat zombie-ish. If I have contact with any actual human beings when I am still thinking about my writing, even after I have stopped writing, someone usually asks me if I am okay, or tells me that I look depressed, or that I look ill, or something of that nature. It used to irritate me, because everyone always thought I was upset about something—I was just deep in thought.

Niina : How do you write, chapter here and there or follow from beginning to an end?

Rosa : From beginning to end, generally straight through. I usually know the title, the beginning, and the end, before I even start writing. If I do not know what happens in the end, it usually stops me from starting in the first place.

Niina : What’s the worst advice for writers you’ve received?

Rosa : You can’t make any money doing that and I don’t think you should do this so much; I think it’s unhealthy. You can make money doing this, and it’s very healthy. Good for the soul!

Niina : What do you like to do when you are not writing?

Rosa : I enjoy traveling, photography, running, yoga and walking. I like to go to the beach, and I like to go fishing. Most of all, my “thing” is cars. I love to work on cars. As I always say, there’s nothing better than the smell of fresh coffee and engine grease in the morning!

Sorrows End

Niina : Welcome to For The Love of Reading, Stephen! I’m glad you could make it. Can you tell us 5 fun facts about yourself so we can get to know you better?

Stephen B. Pearl : Five whole facts, oh my, you do know I write fiction don’t you? ;-) By the by, thanks for having me on For the Love of Reading.  Well I’ll start with things about me. I am an Egyptian path Pagan. I only mention it because this interview came via the Samhain Anthology of the Pagan Writers Press. Interestingly enough my blood line is Celtic / Saxon but Ra taped me on the shoulder. Ultimately it doesn’t make much difference because I believe there are only a few gods administrating the archetypal rays of the universe’s nature, but each has been given many names and faces by the various cultures of man. Okay side step into metaphysics there, sorry.  I am also a writer with three novels published and a forth coming out in May. Tinker’s Plague is my flag ship then Slaves of Love and the Hollow Curse with Nukekubi coming out in May and of course my story Sorrows End in the Samhain Anthology, hint hint. I worked as a lifeguard for a very long time but had to leave it behind because I developed arthritis in my knees that the eggbeater kick was aggravating. Eggbeater is the only kick suitable for bringing in a deep water spinal victim, and I just couldn’t recertify my National Lifeguarding sertificate, which in Canada must be done every two years, without it. I still do some teaching on the side.  I was in the Society for Creative Anachronism for nine years and know how to use a long sword and shield, bastard sword, saber and epee. I’m rusty but I know the basics. I also made my own suit of armour.  I’m a good general handyman and backyard mechanic. I based the skill set for my Tinkers, Doctors of General Applied Technology, in my post-apocalyptic novel Tinker’s Plague on a vastly exaggerated version of my own skill set.

Niina : I’m an Isis girl myself. ;) Now, what did you most enjoy about writing for the Samhain Anthology?

Stephen : It let me touch on issues of loss and moving on. I could also just cut loose and not have to worry about the story appealing to the main stream because the target audience are fellow Pagans who share a similar knowledge base and set of expectations. I didn’t have to explain things like why we cast a circle or the fact that the beloved dead hold no fear they were just givens. It was also nice to give something to my community.

Niina : So, how do you bring out pagan beliefs in your books, if in any way?

Stephen : This varies from book to book. In Slaves of Love I practically ignore religion all together.

In Tinker’s Plague I paint the world as a religious mosaic with all sorts of faiths getting cameos mostly in people’s swear words. My Leads Brad and Carla are both Pagan but aside from their basic moral stance it doesn’t factor in much. When you’re up to your butt in plague victims you aren’t likely to set up for ritual. Carla is a Herbalist and she and her Grand Mother Meb are very Witchy in the modern sense but not so it unbalances the book. I think that is an important point. If you rub peoples’ noses in it when it isn’t appropriate to the nature of the story you come off as having an agenda and their defenses go up. If you just let it be a casual part of the character they come to accept it. Pretty much like in everyday life. I have a friend who coined the saying, “it is one thing to wear a pentacle openly on your chest, it is another to wear a hubcap openly on your chest.” There is wisdom for all minority groups here if you think about it.

The Hollow Curse is very Pagan. Two soul mates are cursed in a previous incarnation to be forever distance by a gulf of years and social norms until they live a life and raise a child together. The two souls are on a Pagan path and the mending of their relationship, over several lives, becomes entangled with the mending of the archetypical sword and cauldron representing the balance of the projective, masculine, and receptive, feminine, forces. The story is really about how unbalanced society has become. I will warn folk, if they at looking for a wyman good man bad read I don’t do that. The imbalance has messed everybody up and everybody has to work to fix it.

Nukekubi is probably the most Pagan of my soon to be available works. Ray a modern day Pagan wizard/priest must neutralize a nukikubi that is feasting on the people of Toronto. Nukekubi are a form of Japanese goblin that looks human during the day. At night they separate their head from their body and fly around scaring people to death to feed of the energies released. Ray has a working system that is based on the principles of Pagan mysticism and really exemplifies a modern Pagan mystic in a world where ‘Magic’ is just a little more demonstrative than it is in our own.

Of course my story in the Samhain Anthology, Sorrows End, is just all out Pagan. The venue called for it.

Niina : I really like the idea for Nukekubi, sounds very interesting. :) So, what drew you to write more futuristic romantic fiction?

Stephen : I’ve always loved the speculative fiction generas. If you look at it you can tell any type of story, romance, action adventure, horror, ext in a Speculative Fiction setting. Note: I say speculative fiction to include fantasy. What you also get to do is explore big ideas. What will happen when we have to stop burning fossil fuels if we don’t have alternative energy supplies in place? What could be the consequence of a world where people cannot commit a direct act of violence. So much of the science fiction genera is cautionary and says open your eyes, look at the consequences of our new abilities both good and bad. As we learn things and gain new skills we change our world. A simple example is medical advances. We mitigated the infant mortality rate at a global level, good thing babies live. We now have mass overpopulation; Hmmm. Things like this is what the SF writer explores before they blow up in our face, so we act as an early warning system. The genera also reflects the Pagan moral stance of personal responsibility, Karma, there are no get out of jail free cards what your characters set up in the story they have to live with. If you use nuclear energy you have to deal with the waist and so on. In this sense SF is probably the most morally challenging of the generas. I also love taking an idea and turning it over and over to explore its consequences and seeing how my characters react to the idea.

Another aspect of sf is you can take an old idea, let’s say a tough as nails detective, and set it in a new setting that forces the archetypal character to adapt and take on a new form. Now your tough as nails gumshoe also has to know how to plant a listening device, hack a computer, or maybe his girlfriend can do that part of the business thus empowering her and making her more his equal in the business. The point is a worn out idea can be made new again by putting it in a SF setting and allowing it to change to suit the setting.

Niina : What about, which character in your story became your favorite?

Stephen : Hmm, Favorite to date. Astra from Slaves of Love, she has a sweetness about her and I adore smart women and she is that. Doesn’t hurt that she is hot enough to melt your fillings. I have a Y chromosome I make no apologies for it. ;-)   Favorite character over all would be Brad from Tinker’s Plague. He chose a profession where he could make a difference despite the fact that tinkers after their first ten year stint doing a wrought fall into three categories. Rich, crippled, dead in roughly equal numbers. Brad doesn’t take crap from anyone but is also the most determined and loyal friend you could ever have. I like him, though he is a bit of a ladies’ man.

Niina : What do you think makes a good story?

Stephen : Everything. Not overly helpful I know. As I see it stories are more woven than built. Character leans on and reflects setting, setting is the result of the actions of characters. The conflict must grow logically from the circumstances of the book. If a plague was released today there would be an effective quarantine, hazmat teems a whole organized response. If it happens in a post-apocalyptic setting those go by the wayside. Taking action must be in the characters’ nature and the action they take must grow naturally from their nature. Jim Kirk isn’t going to pass up the chance to save the pretty woman, it’s not going to happen because it isn’t in his nature.

Niina : Now little about how you write… What would you say is your most interesting writing quirk?

Stephen : Gods a process question. For starters my process is more like Role Playing Gaming than anything else. I set up the world first. Then I populate it with characters that have the right personality to take the actions I need and the skill set to be effective then I’ll throw the characters into situations and let them deal with it while I record what happens. Often the first few pages, that the audience never sees, are garbage. It takes a little while for the characters to come to life and start directing their own actions. After that I just play Game Master setting the scene and tossing up challenges and my characters take control.   Going in I’ll know where I’m starting and where I want to finish, though that can change, and I’ll have an idea about some scenes I want to do along the way but my system isn’t very formal. I tried to write to a plan a couple of times and what came out stank.  This of course is how I work, other folk work to a plan and it’s great for them. People need to find their own method and not let other people tell them there is only one way to do things.

Niina : What is the biggest “no-no” when it comes to writing for you?

Stephen : Forcing a character. If I make a character do something against their nature I’ll get along ten or twelve pages and the whole process stalls. Character action grows from character nature.   Another one would be making people too good. Darkness adds spice. Wolverine of the X Men is a great character because there is darkness in him that compliments honor and nobility. The fact he can be vicious makes his kindness stand out in stark relief.

Niina : What book, if any, do you read over and over again?

Stephen : Lord of the Rings I’ve probably been cover to cover 11 or twelve times. Other than that it’s rare for me to reread a book. I’m dyslexic and read at about half the speed a person with my level of education, university, should to compensate I have four times the average retention of what I read. Rereading a book tends to bore me because of this. Besides, my to be read pile is threatening to fall over and bury me. ;-)

Niina : The Lord of The Rings! Well that’s just my favorite, and the reason I met my hubby and got married. :D Oops, hoggin’ page space here, back to you… What’s the worst advice for writers you’ve received?

Stephen : I tend to forget it as quickly as I can but there was one person who felt I should front load scene description at the start of a story. Another thought I should show off more vocabulary by using ten dollar words where a two dollar word would do just as well. You’ll always find people telling you things the trick is to sift the wheat from the chaff.

Niina : Flirting with the idea of bringing a new mythological/paranormal creature to page, what would be exciting to write about?

Stephen : There are so many. My advice is pick up a copy of the Dungeons and Dragons monster manuals. Leaf through them then use the name of anything that strikes your fancy to find some real information in books like the Encyclopedia of Fairy Lore and the like. See if your initial interest is sustained by the actual lore. A specific, how about a love story. A widower moves into a house built in the forest and encounters a beautiful mysterious woman trespassing on his isolated property. He doesn’t know it but this woman’s secret is she is a Dryad, the spirit of a nearby oak tree. Add some conflict with an unscrupulous lumber baron who is trying to cut down the forest despite the fact that it protects the nearby town’s aquifer recharge zones and place the oak just off the lead’s property to make the threat to the Dryad personal and immediate. That’s just one example but there are loads that spring from even a cursory study of the old lore.

Niina : Hey, I’d read that! :D And now before we say goodbye here are some Quick Fire Questions!

October 28, 2011 ends the one before last underworld in the Mayan Calendar that began on January 5, 1999. The last 11 year cycle ruled by ethics, required of us to come in right alignment with our truth and all of life. It is no accident that people around the world are rioting and manifesting against the lies that have infiltrated our society. It is no accident that all the structures that have gone down in the past decade and the places that were hit by major earth cataclysms, were places of corruption. It is a law of life that what is not of the light, is now bringing upon itself its own destruction. On Friday we are connecting directly with the Central Sun. A most powerful time to place all our wishes, and highest visions in alignment with the divine plan and step into a heightened reality of peace, love and abundance.

As we transition from one dimension to another, we could find ourselves alternatively thrown into a whirlwind of activities followed by a sense of stagnation in seemingly empty pockets of nothingness. These places of void are actually highly important as they are evidence of our ability to connect directly with the divine, allowing us to tap inter dimensionally into what has never existed before.

October 29, 2011- 12.21.2012, the last cycle of the Mayan Calendar, is devoted to co-creation, dreaming our new reality into being. We may find that time speeds up even more during the last 13 months separating us from 12.21.2012. Many lifetimes will be lived. We may have feelings of bi-location, as if we are dreaming several lifetimes simultaneously. It may be challenging to differentiate what is real and what is not. But in the end, everything is real that we can see, imagine and feel. This is why the cycle ending tomorrow, on October 28 required of us to be in absolute integrity. Without honesty, we would only create chaos.

Some of us may be called to move to a place that is more supportive of our gifts, more appreciative of our talents and where we are surrounded by people we love and who love us back. Exciting, unusual people with original ideas are likely to walk into our lives, opening our minds to wider horizons. Our intuition is enhanced. We could become creative in ways that connect us globally to others.

The Full Moon in Taurus on Nov.10.2011 (12:16 PM PST) is another important portal during the October 26 - December 10 dimensional transition. Circumstances may force us to take a different course. Compelling forces may trigger changes in our attitude towards life. We could question our direction, our potential, our values. We are being asked to purge ourselves of what is non-essential. As we become more powerfully aware of our individuality and independence, limiting attachments to binding situations and/or people who are not choosing enlightenment, naturally resolve themselves.

The clearer our motives, the more protected we are against religious or political fanatism, sexual black magic and mass manipulation. We can create the better life we long for, by using our imagination productively. It is also about manifesting our uniqueness and knowing that in relationship it is two beings who have each achieved independence and completeness in their own right, who can positively relate to each other. Okay, survival of the fittest, do you believe in it?

What would happen if societies all over the world stopped taking care of people who do nothing but lie in front of the TV all day, eat tons of processed foods and drink alcohol to numb their minds?

I'm not a cold person, very far from it, but I cannot help but to wonder would Darwin's theory take place, would the weak take themselves out of the equation?

Finland has its fair share of problems, the one that easily comes to my mind is drunks in public places, just few months ago two drunks got into a knife fight 500 yards from where I live and one died. Now - if you gave two smart, active, motivated people knifes and got them rattled up I doubt they would go at it like the drunks, right? I mean imagine your two smartest most decent friends, the other says f-you to the other, is a fight to the death gonna break out? Most likely your answer is no. Well -- so is mine. So this brings me to wonder about this...

If one were to believe in the malevolent illuminati and their desire to control, then wouldn't this sort of cross with it? If humanity was still in the survival of the fittest full-mode then people probably would be less likely controlled because smart people tend to think for themselves, they tend to try eat better go organic, be active, stay motivated and get less depressed and stuck in front of the TV. Perhaps I'm rambling and in my defense it is only 6 a.m. and I've been up since 4 a.m. thinking about stuff as I cannot sleep ( due to flu ).

I'd really like to get feedback from anyone crossing by this, what do you think about the survival of the fittest concerning where spirituality is going and how you see it tying to 'nwo'?

... The question I would like to ask is, in the maze of information/disinformation about potential secret societies, how are we to react to them? The best reaction for one possibility is the wrong reaction for another. For example, if it turns out the Illuminati is actually benevolent in nature ( and I’m not saying that is or isn’t the case ) the resisting them and trying to expose them will only create problems for us. Then oppose the governmental policies that use fear to control you. All humans need a certain measure of safety, but know that fear is the #1 instrument of any control system. That should be your first tip off. If a policy takes away your rights, freedoms and privacy by promising to make you safer, then you should know what the true danger is. Avoid the T.V. , avoid factory foods and anything that dulls down your awareness. If you annoy the secret societies while you’re at it, more power to you.

SCIENCE + SPIRITUALITY = VIDEO

As I spoke with my husband earlier this morning I ended up communicating why I think spirituality and science are trying to join at the moment.

To say it shortly I expressed spiritual desire of people to be One. This desire for Oneness wants to envelope everything in it, just like our body is made of atoms, protons and quarks all interconnected to produce a functional, walking, talking, feeling human beings, so is everything on earth interconnected, the people, animals, material, plant life to produce a functional earthbody.

And why we are so desperately trying to unite science and spirituality (and come up with a lot of made-up stuff in the process - which is sad to see people just reprint without looking to see if it's actually true or not. Trust me I've fallen for that as well...) is because eventually it'll all be explained and we will understand Oneness - now this is going to be way far in the future after we have evolved enough to have the capacity to understand it (in general level we may have ideas and intuition, but not yet the capacity to understand it). I compared this to baby steps, envision a track with a top notch sprint runner set up against a baby taking its first steps, there really isn't a comparison. And this is how I see science-spirituality... we are beginning, the top-notch athlete is what we will become...

SHIVA REA: YOGA FOR BEGINNERS

I just spend 45 minutes with my face stuck on some DD bosoms... yeah, didn't see that sentence coming, did you! * wink *

Okay lets go back few hours, this won't be dirty blog entry, promise!

I walked into to the dentist office for my teeth cleaning appointment at 10:55 am only to discover that I didn't have appointment at 11:00 but at 13:00 (that's 1 pm for you americans), slightly sad I looked at her and said shoot. She took some pity on me and cleared her throat she said eventually how she didn't think her 11:00 clock appointment was gonna show up due to him being foreign guy (apparently foreign guys in Helsinki don't keep their dental appointments, who knew?). She said if I wanted to wait she could pump me up to 11:00 and if he did show up, she could still get me at 12:00 and pump up her lunch with one hour.

I sit down read Science magazine, which btw gave two pieces of information I found interesting, 1. What the mother eats when pregnant will be to the baby foods that feel safe to eat as she grows up. 2. There are absolutely few cases of cancer before the 1700's, spread of cancer is probably due to industrial life style picking up.

Anywho, ten minutes past 11 and the guy is a no show so I go in, the whole things not very pleasant, though she is very nice. Then about five minutes before we're done the suction breakdown - she tells me she might have had to cancel my 13:00 appointment if I still had it. Luckily I did come at 11:00 after all.

I don't believe in luck or coincidences - the universe provides me what I need, and I think I really did need my teeth cleaned now and not day later. ;) If I hadn't recalled my time wrong I wouldn't have gotten my teeth cleaned and I would have had an grim professional treating me.

Just another sing that the Universe loves me and I love back. <3

Oh and the boobs part! Yeah she was bigger lady, so when she bent down to work on me, she kept squishing me to her bosom, it was a maternal feel, felt actually bit safer, isn’t that odd?

HEALTHY TEETH: MYRIAD OF INFORMATION TO SEED THROUGH

I write this due to my own struggle with keeping my teeth healthy. It seems every year I have few more cavities, but this year it's a whole whopping different story. And I know the culprit - or at least until few weeks ago I thought I knew!

Sugar, since Christmas I have been a sugar addict, and it's not something I admit lightly or in humoristic way as it is not humorous in any way. We all know sugar is bad for us, not just teeth but the body, natural energy levels and production of natural balance of feel good chemicals by the brain.

Sugar is an addiction, as strong as one to heroine ( some experts say, read here HERE ) though with not quite the withdrawal symptoms.

I kicked sugar four weeks ago for good, deciding to not let myself slip the coming Christmas like I did last, where this begun.

The first two weeks were literally very hard - I do not know if you have tried to cut sugar off after almost daily indulgence for several weeks, but it is hard. I kept purposefully away from the candy isles, but wanted to go them so bad, same with anything else that had sugar, pastries, snack bars, soft drinks...

But I held my ground, with will power, and conscious choices, and it took just like last time 2 WEEKS to get rid of the sugar cravings. 2 weeks! If you think about it that is a long time, people!

Sugar has 2 week purge time, the artificial sugar leaves the body in 2 weeks, after which the craving top have more more more is diminished almost fully.

Now - It was also that 4 weeks ago that I started searching for information on healthy dental care, and ran across this guy Ramiel Nagal who seems to have a holistic, conscious view on tooth care with his book Cure Toot Decay.

Also right at this time I had my 2 year check up at the dentist appointment.

I immediately liked my doctor a very young woman, who I felt was kind, she talked to me and showed me my scans and told me in a way that I could not deny that I needed to start flossing and begin to use Xylitol after every meal. I took her word and got the things needed at the store afterwards, then at home I ran into Cure Tooth Decay website and begin to do healing work on my teeth.

After reading Mr. Nagal's first free chapter I buy calcium tablets as I eat very little yogurt and milk, phosphorus I discover you have to get from food, and hence buy All Bran Cereal for breakfast, getting my hit of phosphorus every morning. Calcium and phosphorus produce a substance called hydroxyapatite to the saliva which is demineralizing, in other words creates stronger teeth by strengthening the dentil and enamel.

Now I cannot say I yet fully believe in all he talks about, phyctic acid being one, where whole grains and nuts and corn are bad for you.

There is very much contradicting information, but I do believe that as little invasive action on teeth is the best way to go, I am sure we all know about the amalgam fillings are no good and that the best filling these days is ceramic.

This is why before I headed out to camping I made a deal with my teeth and the universe that if it was in the highest good, I would reform my diet and my teeth in return would allow themselves to be healed with Reiki by me. This worked wonders on my sore tooth that my dentist had said most likely had pulpitis and that if the pain continued or worsened I was to have root canal on it. Well the pain went away almost immediately as I begun healing my teeth.

I felt the glands produce hydroxyapatite rich saliva to strengthen the dentin and enamel, making my teeth white inside out, and felt the energies of Reiki impact all my teeth, healing them, showering them with love and light. Helping the enamel's beginning cavities just fade away. And be replaced by strength and health.

On the physical side I brush my teeth morning and evening and floss every evening.

I also use Xylitol gum or tablets after every meal as this is what I learned from Xylitol.

"Most of the early studies on xylitol consumption and tooth decay were carried out with xylitol gum. Since chewing gum elicits an increase in salivation, it was uncertain if the xylitol or the stimulated saliva flow accounted for the decrease in decay rate. Increased salivation does exert a cleansing influence on teeth, has a buffering effect on the bacterial acids, and results in an increase of calcium and phosphate, which causes a healing or hardening of tooth enamel. This question was answered when chewing gums sweetened with different sweeteners were compared in a field study of 4th-grade students in Central America. The highest decay rate was found in children who chewed sugar-containing gum, even higher than those children who did not chew gum. Sugar-free gum did lower the decay rate, but the most dramatic drop in the decay rate was observed in children chewing 100%-sweetened xylitol gum."

Wither I believe that regular dental care is right or alternative is right, I see no harm in following them both as best as I can. I firmly believe what we eat effects our health so why wouldn't it affect our dental health.
I believe my whole grain, as organic as possible diet of the vegetarian and non-alcoholic kind will help my teeth be stronger.
As I continue with this journey to find tools and advice on the best dental care I am about to leave for my first dental appointment to fix what needs to be fixed, knowing my healing work has worked it's wonder and what still needs to be done is in the highest good of me.

GOING AWAY FOR 4 DAYS - CAMPING

Here is where my little internet free camping vacation will begin. :)
I'm going camping for 4 days this morning, starting in 45 minutes, so you can find me in blue tent surrounded by green loving trees.

I'm traveling three hours by car with my husband, mother and her boyfriend to where I use to live 6 years of my life, that happens to be attached to a camping site and cabin area. This is a place I visit yearly, it's wonderful.
Satakunta is known to be strong area with ancient lines of finnish merchants and kings and places that were considered by sacred geomatry, well sacred.

When I return there shall be new pictures!

HAIR DYE CHALLENGE: MONTH 4

On March 6th 2011 I wrote a blog entry called THE HAIR, THE HEAD AND THE BLOOD STREAM where I wrote:

On that note I am considering stopping dyeing my hair - which is a much bigger issue of vanity ( can't imagine I know a lady who would disagree that dyeing is done due to vanity ) and much harder to do. I recall I spend four months not dyeing my hair until I couldn't take it any longer and gave in.

Of course there is the organic way and brands, but how is that any different when you get down to the point of vanity and altering your looks?
Why do I need to look different, or specifically be a certain tone of brunette?
Spiritually speaking I do not see any need for that.
Vanity's point of view is different of course! Finns are known to have this interesting hair color in the shade of ash. Yep - not really pretty under the current standards, where colors are pure and dark and hair needs to be glossy. I recall a hairdresser telling me how my normal hair color was a pretty brown but just dull and not glossy. I didn't think much of it then, and agreed - but I bloody well want to like my own hair! If it happens to be the color of field mouse then be it, it doesn't change anything about me, doesn't change who I AM.

Alright I dare you, Niina, to not dye your hair for a year. To use organic shampoo & conditioner and not spray your head with chemicals.

I would like to not dumb myself down with product of vanity, not lose interest and to be lighter just by knowing I am doing the right thing by my body. I'm ready to enjoy this adventure of a life organically, just as my body was created without messing with the basics. Now a nice shirt or pair of shoes is enough of a decoration!

Now it has been few days till 4 months since I stopped dying my hair, and I feel so different, not just look but feel as well.

I recently took up the organic herbal shampoo and conditioner as well, and that has made a huge difference, I felt it first wash on. So the picture on the right there that is my current hair color, though sun is pretty much bleaching my roots now - I love it and I feel much better.

I did though have a rough time with it the first 2 months, it was driving me mad by looking like I constantly had greasy hair due to my roots being lighter than my hair.

I recommend this to all who dye their hair, go without its great and gives you a clearer head ;)

NO MORE TV FOR ME + GOING CAMPING THIS MIDSUMMERS

I really did decide 3½ years ago to stop watching news and reading news online because they caused me pain, I've always been an empath so watching anyone in pain isn't what I want to do on my free time. At that time I also stopped on of my other mind numbing activity which was to care a rat's ass about celebrities, who did what, who got together, who broke up, who designed what, and so on...

Now it was truly a life changing decision - I quit my old job few months later feeling more empowered. Got a new job. It was perhaps a year or close to two after that that I first tried to stop watching TV, except for documentaries on nature, space and religion which I found informative. It lasted about a year, and then the beginning of this year when I was feeling the spring blue for two months I started watching TV again, this time online.

I have been on that slip ever sense, but I think it's time again to wean myself off TV. I've noticed how when I come back from work my mind is still active but just 30 minutes of watching TV on my computer and I feel sluggish, drained and tired. I feel as if work has tired me so completely but perhaps it's wise to look at TV as a reason - so I will experiment!

I will spend a week wholly without TV - oh wait, this sort of can't be very accurate experiment as I stop working in two days. :) Oh well, I am still stopping TV staring again, no more Doctor Who, How I Met Your Mother, Mentalist and Movies. This should actually be fairly easy break as my week is as follows:
Wednesday = Work
Thursday = Work
Friday = Off to go camping
Saturday = Camping
Sunday = Camping
Monday = Camping
Tuesday = Finishing up camping
After tomorrow I don't even have access to a TV, as TV is not a part of Camping, so this should be fairly easy break from IT, that just need to uphold.

Now for computer TV watching, I will still watch spiritually meaningful youtube videos, I think that's produced with more consciousness and meaning well, other than TV that has quite a bit of bad rap under its carpet.

You might have also noticed I said I'm going camping for Midsummer! I am!
I do not know if me taking the change to not go camping because of thunder storms so well the thunderstorm warning been lifted off Satakunta and we decided to go camping again. Which I am so happy about!
Talk about that Change in my week's beginning Tarot. ;)

Just 2 more days of work and I get to go camping in nature and so begins my 5 Week Summer Vacation! Hooray! :)

Well so it is...

I, few minutes ago, talked over the phone with my mother about the weather during Midsummer, as we plan to go camping as I mentioned in Monday Tarot - Change entry.
Now it seems it is those Midsummer days that a big thunderstorm is hitting Finland.
So we are not going.
What changed was we end up not going camping, ultimately better than having a flooding tent, scared dog and mother and catching what not in the cold.

Now I just have to make few changes to how to spend the Midsummers.

I was waiting for camping though, really was, hopefully the weekend after this will be nice and sunny. :)

MY THOUGHTS ON MONEY ABUNDANCE + UNIVERSE ASNWERS TO OUR THOUGHTS

All this talk about monetary or financial abundance in spirituality is really bothering me. I do not for a second believe that if all the people in the world manifested monetary abundance we could even survive.

Money is an illusion. Think of credit, a loan, card you pay with, imaginary money on your bank account. The only real money is the cash in your hand and even that is so corrupt there are no words for it. There are people who decide how much your cash is worth at any given time, or how much your gold or silver is worth. But gold and silver are more consistent of the three options.

This is what rubs me the wrong way about The Secret is their money, cars, jewelry approach. They make a good point of taking responsibility of your life but imagining a car believing you have it, won't do it.

Do not get me wrong I believe in the Law of Attraction very much, just not the attachment filled The Secret.

Law of Attraction is attracting with your thoughts experiences to your life.

Like one day I had to go to a meeting at work in the evening, I spend two hours prior thinking I don't want to go, I'm tired, gosh why do I have to go? So by the time I'm standing solidly on the bus stop waiting for my ride to work, two busses miss their shift - which leads to me running to catch a metro and being late from the meeting.
What did I attract there - apparently no transportation, it is as if the Universe was right by my side in the metro looking at me and saying: "But I though you didn't want to go, I just gave you what you wanted?"

Another time I was setting a dentist appointment on the phone without my work calendar, and we set a date for mid May, a Wednesday. Few days after the call I checked the work calendar to find out I had set the appointment for the morning of Spring Celebration day, a morning where we and the kids would put on a show for the parents for the end of the Spring semester. I had to change the dentist appointment then, I tried to call them twice not getting through. In my mind I kept repeating I have to change the dentist appointment, I have to change the dentist appointment. Universe heard me loud and clear and had the dentist office call me the next day telling me they had to close for Wednesday because of staff training and would I be free the next day, on Thursday. I couldn't help but to smile when I said, yes.

Yet another example, and I'll keep this short, was when our sofa was at a breaking point and I kept thinking we need a new sofa, we need a new sofa - what did the amazing Universe do, well through my mom and her boyfriend gave us a 300€ gift card to a furniture store.

Another short one, as we were remodeling, having super hard time with getting off wallpaper, I kept asking come off easy, come off easy - modifying my technique a little it did come off as easy as magic.

Now you will never caught me cheating, I will never wish for 100,000€s for Abundance, or sports car for the fun and cool of it, or jewelry for the sparkliness of it. That people is Vanity.

Now is Vanity part of Enlightenment?
Is it part of Love?
Is Vanity part of Light, perhaps?
Oh - no? Well then we will agree. if we disagree then ask yourself this if you are perfect and already have everything you need, if you are perfectly safe as you are then why do you need possessions? Extra Money? Extra Vacation? Extra Clothes? Extra Jewelry? How will that better your light-filled essence who is on its way to Non-Attachment, Love and Compassion?

We can agree or disagree, as all paths eventually lead to same Unity. :)

MY 6TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

Six years ago my husband and I got married, it's was 18th of June saturday, like today, we got married at 1:00 p.m. in the rain, like it rained at 1:00p.m. today as well.

I loved getting married with him, absolutely loved it and the fact that I knew we were going to be together forever.

Six years has gone by fast, fightless and without fear - soaked in love, compassion, laughter and amazing experiences together.

We take turns with anniversaries, he gets odds and I get evens, and as this is year six it was my turn to make plans for today, so I took us to see Huge Simberg's expedition in Didrichsen's Museum.

We did exchange gifts as well, I gave him the english version of Key to the Kalevala by Pekka Ervast and he gave me my second set of Kalevala earrings ( kismet, right ;) ), he had given me Kalevala earring last anniversary as well. :)

I think I'm going to go watch at the wedding album now. :)

ORGANIC BODY AND MIND + FINNISH CHRONICLE FROM 1620'S

I would like to talk about recent changes in my attitudes, thoughts and actions towards the moral and soul consciouness of Nature and our home Planet. And little about a recent find of books. :)

I was walking back from meeting my mom after work thinking I really wanted organic shampoo and conditioner. I have been using Loréal and Herbina before, and wanted to change because I wanted organic clean products plus I wanted to stop using Loréal because of their evil agenda in using animals in testing their products.
So I walk into Grass Roots Ecological Market/Ruohonjuuri Ekomarket in Itäkeskus, end up buying finnish organic honey, organic potatoes and seed n' grain veggies patty materials, as well as Cranberry-Rooibos-Ginger Shampoo and Aloe Vera and Xylitol Conditioner. Best thing about the hair products is that you can go and re-fill the bottles instead of cause more plastic trash. :) Plus they smell heavenly! And I feel I am doing my part for the environment and keeping my body chemical free. Also I'm using the Lumene Natural Code for make-up these days. :)

It feels great to give in to my soul and eat and use products that are the current best for the earth and for the body. :)

Earlier that day I went to get a drink with mom, now that bar terrace season is on full power, but as I was there early I decided to visit the Minä Olen Store right next to the Restaurant, I was happy to find they had a book sale! I found the first finnish chronicle written in 1620's by a priest who was doing time in Kajaani fortress, "Finnish Chronicle" by Johannes Messenius, and it was only 1€ ( check these entries to know why I was so excited to find the chronicle ) . Then I found "Starlight Elixirs & Cosmic Vibrational Healing" by Smulkis & Rubenfield for 5€.
As I was about to pay I saw Maria Zavou walk in to do a angel course upstrais I saw her lecture in Minä Olen-Fair in beginning 2011, I recall leaving the lecture quite early.

Anyway I met my mother on the terrace next, as you know by my intro I don't drink alcohol, so I had some Cranberry & Ginger Ale. The funny thing about this hour was that while we were talking about Reiki, Past lives and Channeling the neighbouring tables were afwul quiet and listening, sometimes you can tell when people listen, and they had their ears wiggling our way.

That was my day yesterday, today on the other hand has been all about my 6th ( Iron ) Wedding Anniversary with my husband. :) Might post a picture entry of it after I finish watching Juno.

FIGURING OUT A SPIRITUAL ROUTINE

Where last entry was all about bringing out thoughts in whatever form they wanted to come out in, this entry is all about a plan. A plan to heal my Body and Mind.

I have meditated whenever I feel so, spontaneously, which I admit is ( I am afraid to use the word ) rarely ( but there I said it, after all yesterday was Lunar Eclipse and that is all about letting go of un-necessary fear ). And now that I have said it I wish to change it, and not just meditation, but Reiki and Visualization.

I had this idea yesterday morning as I was on the metro to go to work, I want to establish a loose routine to do a little bit every day. To come up with a spiritual Life, not just daily routines of go to work, routines at work, come home and have spirituality time. ;)

Monday = Tarot Reading for the Upcoming Week, to have insight on what are the points for the week to focus and learn from...

Tuesday = Reiki, wither to balance chakras or specifically heal what I feel intuitively is in need of balancing and healing...

Wednesday = Meditation, for relaxation, quieting the mind and connecting with silence and the void, the part of me that is consciousness...

Thursday = Visualization, healthy body, mind, astral travel, learning lessons...

Friday = Channeling, connecting with my Higher Self or my Spirit Guides to better my life...

Saturday = Yoga Trance Dance, invigorating the body, connecting with movement...

Sunday = Meditation, for relaxation, quieting the mind and connecting with silence and the void, the part of me that is consciousness...

Of course I am still allowing full access to spontaneous action, to do whatever I wish, whenever I wish with full consideration of Actions and Consequences. "PLAN" VOLUNTEER, APPLE PIE, HEATWAVE, WINDCHIMES...

Apple pie is in the oven, windchimes are singing in the kitchen, balcony is full of brightly colored flowers, I should attempt to make Greek Salad but I seem to have trouble keeping my eyes open. This ehec-virus is the solution to the swine flu pandemic bombing at the box office, hydration is the key. Is +30'C too much for Finland, we live in the North we can't handle heats like this, two years of the same first super cold heavy snowed winters followed by heatwave summers two in a row of those maybe it has something to do with the activity of then sun, global warming, highten seasons, change.

I joined Plan Finland today, became a volunteer, will be teaching english to Plan ambassadors, will be translating and interpreting, will be teaching how to act around children, it's part of my purpose, my life long purpose as a kindergarden teacher, and humanbeing to help children, to raise better children who have opportunities they didn't even knew they were entitled to as humans. Will get a t-shirt as well 'because i'm a girl' campaign.

Just needed to get some thoughts out. :)

CME AND MY SUN-MON INSIGHT

As there was a great Coronal Mass Ejection from the Sun three days ago, I thought I'd post my experiences from yesterday, as yesterday should have been the peak day of the "download".
Why do I say download? There are many people, but in grand scale few, who study the sun and its solar maximum and minimum cycles and see what historical events correlate with those. Some men have come to believe ( perhaps you'll find their names here ) that when the Sun releases particles during CME and flares that effect our body, changing the so called settings in us.

Cosmic rays are high-energy particles from deep space; they penetrate metal, plastic, flesh and bone. Astronauts exposed to cosmic rays develop an increased risk of cancer, cataracts and other maladies. Ironically, solar explosions, which produce their own deadly radiation, sweep away the even deadlier cosmic rays. So let's move on to yesterday, Monday.

Yesterday was the day that the effects of the Saturday’s CME (coronal mass ejection) were felt in the electromagnetic field of earth, and us, the people. Of course thanks to our planet's magnetic field we never get the full blast of the update but share it planet earth.

On Sunday I had a wonderful day of realizing that my ego was on my spiritual path with me, blocking me subtly from enjoying the Light with trying to educating myself on the information of spirituality. ( the entry HERE )
What I decided on Sunday was to make Monday a Day of Light - not just Monday but the rest of my life. The thing I was worried about was what work would be like when my focus was Light, I decided I won't worry about it as I had intuitive knowledge it would be absolutely perfect for my work, but still my ego was trying to worry me with image of me having to quit my job to enjoy the Light. Well-- it just happens Monday was 1-0 for Niina. ;)

I woke up, lying in bed I opened my eyes and chose that today was going to be light filled, the most blissful, happiest day where I give the universe the open field to manifest through me. On a side note I said the same thing this morning. My day that followed was amazing, the most calm, serene, happy one - usually I am at least twice or thrice stressed when the children at work get into arguments and screaming - it seemed my attitude was rubbing off on them.

I noticed how I was fully present in all the actions I did, with the child I was with. It seemed a fully different experience from last week. I do not know how much of this has to do with the CME but I am not so proud to say I give it no credit of Sunday and Monday and the change at the core of me.

The Universe, it's planets and stars are more mysterious than we give them credit for - just because we can see them and guess upon them doesn't mean all is known and understood about them, ask that of any scientist and they'll agree. This existence of ours... much more amazing than meets the 15% usage capability of our brain.

MY EGO AND ME IN A SPIRITUAL PATH

I am starting to feel something that could develop into frustration if I let it - it's due to the fact that I am still searching new ways to evolve spiritually, but what I find in the world now is something I've already dealt with, released and moved on.

Just this morning few moments ago I received a free small course on releasing mind to reach my goals and dreams. Which is fine, except I am past earthy goals and dreams such as being successful or rich or living in the Bahamas.

I am fully content with the state of my life, I do not need or want anything external or internal to change. Not any of my emotions, they all precious and tools for great self-knowledge which is part of our existence on this planet.

I am aware of the illusion of material life, I am aware of how much I need of material things to keep the body alive - all else, I do not need. I have no desire to be successful. Would someone please give even a semi-reasonable spiritual reason why we should have more than we need or more than another sister or brother of ours?

I do not feel comfortable with "goals" anymore - if I need something I take the necessary steps to acquire it, and if it is meant to be it is what I shall receive because it truly was needed. I have come to figure out that things I do not need I will not receive - I think this has been a theme to learn in this life time, along with what comes with that Lesson which is: Total freedom of Attachments of all things material. But it leaks into emotional life as well and I cannot say there are too many things I am attached to.

Not being Attached I'd like to share doesn't mean you cannot feel sad when you two depart from each other.

As I write this I'm reminded of a recent article I read, "Ego Valaistumista Etsimässä" ( Ego Searching for Enlightenment ) in which the writer explores how the Ego wants to set out to find Enlightenment because it is one of those things it can be superior in than other people ( clever Ego, right ), so it sets out to get the perfect religion which it dictates is the one right religion, of course it is quite afraid of dying so eventually it gives and start to try and find reincarnation. After Ego is researched on this spiritual road it gets a guru, it sits under the feet of him and demands the Highest teachings from him. The ego loves to get the most exotic guru, because he can boast with it and beat other searchers of truth. After this Ego searches for knowledge on spiritual journeys and evolution, coming in contact with choices which separate him from others so that he can feel a bit more right than others again. When Ego comes across master of Light he wants to be one, and charges to the path but realizes soon that this would mean letting go of all kind of baggage. This Light is in front of it now and the Ego fears it, but as Light has entered the Ego cannot undo his actions and tries to focus on tidbits of knowledge instead of the Light of the Soul and divinity. But Ego soon sees there is not enough of organized information and hence it gets happy cause there are life times of information to go through and organize.

That is putting a very long article very shortly here, I recommend you get the newest Minä Olen, the article is there on pages 32-35. I wish it was in english as well as it is Amazing.

So why am I looking for more knowledge when all that I see is pretty much useless to me? Should I keep on looking for information, new ideas, and old ideas to evolve - or focus on the Light?

The Light is my life, it is in my Heart and Mind, in my Consciousness, it is in my sense of humor, and it is in the eyes of everyone I meet. So why am I hesitant to give my whole life to it - I have to work, it seems a contradiction. What if giving myself to the light fully means... But it won't, I know it won't. Silly Ego.

I can see it front of my eyes - that life, it's as easy as breathing, why would I not want to have that light in my life?

That said I am off to meditate!

FINLAND'S DEVA & MY PAST LIFE IN 900'S FINLAND

I am reading a Finnish book online at the moment, it was written in 1913 by Pekka Ervast, a Rosicrucian and Theosophian who wrote wonders about the Finnish nation, our History and Culture in spiritual light.

This Book is called Newly Born Finland ( Uudesti Syntyvä Suomi ) it discusses the Deva, the Protective Spirit, the National Spirit of Finland.

I've reached Chapter 3. Where he writes that old Finnish souls from our Golden Age begun to reincarnate back to Finland around 1900. Before this they had traveled the world, being born in India, China, Italy, France and Germany learning from other Cultures. And Being born back to Finland at the time when Finland ( though writing this he didn't know just how right he was ) was raising its head from being oppressed for quite many years, generations. He writes how Finnish people had to hold on to their nature, Finnish nature during this oppressive time and that took a lot of energy, hence the quiet era where not a lot of Finnish Culture was known in Europe and beyond. But as 1900 begun and old Finnish souls from the golden age returned we begun to see such people as Sibelius where he in 1900-1902 breaks through to International Stage.

Why I find this interesting is that have intuitive knowledge of having other lives in Finland, knowledge that I come back from time to time check up on Finland. This is interesting as I just recently had Clearing done on my Akashic Record, two lives to be exact, and one of them was in 900th Finland, the woman who did this Clearing told me I lived in the Oulu area in 900's and I was the Shaman of the tribe.

I channeled my Higher Self this morning ( I'm going to use the term "her" as I am a woman in this life time, but in Finnish him and her are represented by one word "hän" which means both genders ) considering my earlier life in Finland. I asked her if I had an earlier life in Finland, she answered yes. I asked if I had been a Shaman, she answered yes. I asked if I had lived in 900's, she answered yes. I asked if I had lived in Oulu area, she answered yes. I asked if I had been a man or a woman, she answered man. I asked her to show me an image of myself from that time, and saw immediately a man sitting on a rock seat fire in front of him and early night, he had longer hair that had natural dreads mixed in his hair from time to time, he had a short beard, and he was thin, I got the mental image he didn't, I didn't eat a lot. But I saw muscles in his legs so he wasn't sickly thin. I asked her what happened in that life time that had lingered with me before the Akashic record was cleared, she told me the earth changed, I tried to see but she told me it wasn't a catastrophe, but subtle change in the earth, crops didn't grow as they use to. I had tried my best with the knowledge that I had to make the ground fertile, she told me I did what I could but something’s are meant to happen.
I then asked her is there something she'd like me to know, she showed me kissing the forehead of a young girl, platonic kiss and she told me I passed on my knowledge to the girl, what I knew of incantations and medicines.

This self-exploration was brought on by the Ervast book, and I am thinking there are many more to read on the matter of Finns and our Golden Age, The Kalevala and Finnish Spirituality. But these are my thoughts for now.

SAVING A BEE, A STORY OF HUMANITY'S FIGHT AGAINST HELP

"Come on Bee, go, that way, not that glass you can't go through that. Silly thing, you're like most humans. I need to get the cup and paper don't I?" I return to the kitchen, get my birthday card and cup return to assist the silly Bee. I do understand it is probably afraid of me, I'm bigger and shooing him towards what he sees as wall - I am backing him against the wall. And he isn't without retaliation, I am aware, I've never been stung by a Bee, but I imagine it's not a fun thing, even though not deadly, especially when you have medication. I track the Bee down by the sound of its buzzing, he's by the window desperately trying to get out to the balcony flowers and blue sky, Freedom. He has brought himself to my home by the actions he has taken, choices he has made, and now that I try to help him, fear gets in the way. I place the cup over him and slid the birthday card underneath to temporarily trap him, he buzzes like crazy, it's fine I know the feeling, I myself haven't always been able to see what situations have actually helped through have then seemed like I was being smacked around by fate.

I release him to the balcony, for a moment he's disorientated and tries to fly into the glass that reflects the trees and flowers and the blue sky, reflects his Freedom, he bounces off the glass few times before realizing it's an illusion of Freedom. To that I can relate as well. The Bee is now Free to make yet other choices, and I... I am writing this, realizing why I have been freeing close to ten Bees in a three day period - to remember this, to look back at my own life see how it all relates. I was a Bee as well, I was assisted as well, and my choices no longer ( hopefully ) take me to situations that need rough saving. I've looked at the Illusion of Freedom and turned away from the Illusion to real Freedom.

I'm out of the House people! :)

HOW THE PATH WAS FORGOTTEN

Reminder on How the Path was Forgotten

One day, a calf needed to cross a virgin forest in order to return to its pasture. Being an irrational animal, it forged out a tortuous path full of bends, up and down hills.
The next day, a dog came by and used the same path to cross the forest. Next it was a sheep’s turn, the head of a flock which, upon finding the opening, led its companions through it.
Later, men began using the path: they bent down, deviating obstacles, complaining and cursing – and quite rightly so. But they did nothing to create a different route.
After so much use, in the end, the path became a trail along which poor animals toiled under heavy loads, being forced to go three hours to cover a distance which would normally take thirty minutes.
Many years passed and the trail became the main road of a village, and later the main avenue of a town. Everyone complained about the traffic, because the route it took was the worst possible one.
Meanwhile, the old and wise forest laughed, at seeing how men tend to blindly follow the way already open, without ever asking whether it really is the best choice.

THIS WEEK IS ALL ABOUT NEW ENVIRONMENT

... The sling-shot energy from the Solar Eclipse sends everyone into a new environment ...

This week, May 29th through June 4th, provides the sling-shot from our current situation into mid-air and finally into a new environment. The events from this week become wild with excitement as many adjustments take place.

Sunday brings the early morning connection of Jupiter and the Moon, which comes into close proximity to display the connection signaling that this eventful week is about to take place. Monday brings Moon to connect with action-oriented Mars and resolution-oriented Venus, both of which display magnificent options brought into motion. These opportunities come into play with new information that flies into the day on Tuesday. This information prompts change in many directions, which opens the curtains for the New Moon/Solar Eclipse on Wednesday, June 1st. An eclipse always signifies a major turning point in our lives. Amen is interviewed by Gay and Katie Hendricks about our Brain and how having an unhealthy brain causes grave emotional relationship problems, and how a healthy brain can handle the tools to improve their emotional skills. Interesting sidetracks happened where Daniel G. Amens talks about natural remedies vs. drugs in treating brain related troubles, he speaks how using a drug like Xanax in brain spectrum imaging shows up as brain being drunk, where as St. Johnswart a natural herb for debression only shows a healthier brain, but has same results.
Interestingly he also talks of how alcohol makes your brain smaller and how overweight people have smaller brains, talks about the studies conducted on them.
I personally already was aware of these two studies, but it was interesting he brough them up as well.

The king ventured far inland and through some woods; there were valley regions called Herdalarna. They took some property, but no men (Slaves? Prisoners?). When evening drew near, the King began his way back to his ships. But when they returned to the woods, they were confronted by men from all sides, and harrassed and shot at fiercely. The King told his men to take cover/protect themselves. But before they could get out of the woods, he had lost many men and several were wounded. He arrived at the ships in the evening. In the night, the Finns created a great storm with their witch-craft. But the king ordered to lift up the anchor and raise the sails, and they travelled along the coast during the night. The King's good luck was then, like so often, more effective than the witch-craft of the Finns. They managed to sail along the coast of Balegard and then out to sea. John Taylor Gatto - May 19, 2011

John Taylor Gatto was born in Monongahela, Pennsylvania. He attended public schools and a private Catholic boarding. As a boy he held many jobs from sweeping his grandpa's printing office to selling comic books. Later, he did undergraduate work at Cornell, the University of Pittsburgh, and Columbia and then served in the U.S. Army medical corps. Following army service he did graduate work at the City University of New York, Hunter College, Yeshiva, the University of California, and Cornell. After college, Mr. Gatto worked as a scriptwriter in the film business, was an advertising writer, a taxi driver, a jewelry designer, an ASCAP songwriter, and a hotdog vendor before becoming a schoolteacher. During his school teaching years he also entered the caviar trade, conducted an antique business, operated a rare book search service, and founded Lava Mt. Records. He climaxed his teaching career as New York State Teacher of the Year after being named New York City Teacher of the Year on three occasions. He quit teaching on the OP ED page of the Wall Street Journal in 1991 while still New York State Teacher of the Year, claiming that he was no longer willing to hurt children. Later that year he was the subject of a show at Carnegie Hall called "An Evening With John Taylor Gatto," which launched a career of public speaking in the area of school reform, which has taken Gatto over a million and a half miles in all fifty states and seven foreign countries. His books include: Dumbing Us Down: The Hidden Curriculum of Compulsory Schooling (1992); The Exhausted School (1993); A Different Kind of Teacher (2000); The Underground History Of American Education (2001); and Weapons of Mass Instruction (2008). Gatto is currently at work on a documentary film about the nature of modern schooling entitled "The Fourth Purpose", with his friend and former student, Roland Legiardi-Laura. Gatto has been married for forty years to the same woman, and has two grown children and a cat. He hopes to build a rural retreat and library for the use of families pondering local and personal issues of school reform. SWEDISH "PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS 7" UP FOR GRABS

Hello my dear friends! I won "Adobe Photoshop Elements 7" in a raffled at yesterdays Ladies Night Ball at my husband's lodge. I was installing it this morning an noticed a it's for Windows XP and Vista, as I have Windows 7 I was bit worried. But it worked just fine on 7. :) Now problem two was I noticed it was in Swedish, I figured when instaling it offers language options - it did not. So I didn't register it but looked around, sadly I cannot use it with my skills in swedish.

So I though I'll share it, so any of my friends and readers of my blog can comment here in my original blog and have it.

If you know your Swedish, and are interested in Photoshopping, image modification, just drop a line here and the Elements 7 is yours. :)

Details - Photoshop's end-user license agreement (EULA) has always allowed for Photoshop to be installed on up to two computers (for instance, a home computer and a work computer, or a desktop and a laptop), as long as it's not being used on both computers at the same time.

WHY IMMORTALITY NOW IS A RISK

I was reading an article on spiritual genetics that dealt with nanotechnology and the nervous system and how in the future, it is possible, that nanotechnology will help correct mistakes and missing connection between nerve cells creating an infinitive life span. ( From Maria Zavou's "Spiritual Surgeries and The World of Voice Codes" ) Technically speaking, after this humans could live as long as they wished, die when they wished.

I am not so much interested in how long my life is, but wither I am able to live in the Now or not. And I think it’s a little testament to my ability to live in the Now because I do not dream of the future or mull over the past, hence having no desire to live a long life or a short one. Just a life, that is right now. This moment right here.

What I do think about is that we are so not ready. The plain Jane and average Joe are so not ready for a long life span - not even mentioning those men and women stuck on money, fame and other illusions of success. Let me ask you, can you see the head of a multimillion company saying what the heck I’ll share my money during this, say 900 year life? I would like to think yes, he’d eventually change his or her ways begin to see with compassion those around him that are equally justified to be alive, eat, drink and live. But the risk is, and this is why we really haven’t earned the right to a long life span is, that there will be no changed mind, money will be collected to ridiculous amounts, cars will be bought in tens and forties to count, houses will be decorated with stupendiously expensive furniture with the rotation rate of twice a year.

As long as people are greedy there will be short life spans, we haven’t passed the test yet, nowhere near graduation, friends. Even with some percentage of people on earth in touch with what counts, compassion, brother- and sisterhood, sharing, love and kindness - we too have to wait this out.

And us who know what death is can’t be sad of the wait. After all what is there to wait for when we have Now, this moment right here to be happy, alive, excited and Hey in my case turning 29! ;)

We are already ageless, timeless, forever existing Consciousness. When we will have the chance to live as long as we want in human bodies it’ll be interesting to see what matters, and when we choose to reincarnate again and to where.
